ALLYSEN HOOKS

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: 

Allysen Hooks is a dance artist based in Brooklyn whose interest in dance making lies in the rendering of imagination and experience in the body. She is an MFA candidate at Sarah Lawrence College, with choreographic mentorship from John Jasperse, Beth Gill, and Dean Moss. Allysen graduated from The Juilliard School in 2010 and was a member of GALLIM under direction of Andrea Miller from 2012-2021. She was Creative Assistant to Miller, accompanying her on various commissions for new work. Allysen also works with choreographer Jodi Melnick.
