About the Event

Remi, Mark, and Caroline present a split bill evening of movement that is deeply grounded in their Nightlife and Dance Culture communities. From House to Techno and nothing held back, these three movers blur the lines between the club and the theater as they navigate a shared value system of community, local pride, and individual expression.

CAROLINE AYN NELSON-PERRELLY is a Brooklyn-based movement artist and founding member of Falcon Dance / Brit Falcon and Treeline Dance Works, while freelancing for other various dance companies. Performance and teaching credits include spaces throughout the US and Europe within theaters, colleges, universities, warehouses, and other found venues. Caroline is the long-time Director of People and Culture of House of YES - a performance and community-centric nightclub based in Bushwick that is now regarded on a global scale. Caroline holds a BFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport, Magna cum Laude, and is also proud to be on the Artist Advisory Board for Triskelion Arts. @caroline_ayn

JOYFLUX

Mark Schmidt + Remi Harris have been making dances collaboratively since 2018. Their work continues to address dance’s ability to activate spaces for POC’s, Queer folks, and community engagement.

Recent works include: “1960 What” as part of the 2023 Southern Tier Pride Festival, “The Civic Social,” commissioned by American Dance Asylum as part of the IMAGINE Festival (Corning, NY, 2021), Body Comes Apart (Time Piece Collective, 2020), and Yes! Yes! Yes! at Triskelion Arts (2019).

They have taught master classes and lead workshops at Hofstra University, the online teaching platform freeskewl, and SUNY Brockport’s summer dance intensive. @remiharris_. @mark.the.movement.maker
