Imani Gaudin is a choreographer, multidisciplinary performance artist, and the founder of gaudanse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to dance education and sustainable arts practices for underserved communities. Her training spans institutions such as NOCCA, SUNY Purchase, the Amsterdam University of the Arts, The Juilliard School, The Ailey School, and Dance Theater of Harlem. She has performed works by renowned choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Netta Yerushalmy, Roderick George, Amos Ben-Tal, Akira Yoshida, Alethea Pace, Stephanie Batten Bland, and Kayla Farrish. Currently, she is a movement artist with Shamel Pitts’s TRIBE. In collaboration with visual artist Jakob Vitale, she was commissioned by Baryshnikov Arts and the Hudson Yards Hell’s Kitchen Alliance to premiere jakob&imani in Fall 2024.
