GO is an experimental contemporary dance work exploring illusions of control and questioning human nature and drive. Utilizing inspiration from games and digital worlds, the space transforms into a maze as lines between player and controller blur. Throughout the work, constant oscillations between ethereal and embodied states fuel a desire to merge one’s opposing qualities. The work is created in collaboration with and performed by Gabi Scheele, August Green, Cat Mills, and Cici Cardinal. Isabel Torok is a movement artist and choreographer based in New York City. She utilizes improvisational score-based approaches to creating experimental contemporary dance works. Her work explores how femininity exists in liminality, constantly shifting and adapting, and draws attention to the ways women are diminished or erased from society.
