Market Demographics

Market Demographics: a Street Dance and Physical Theatre work centered around race and identity, looking at how Black and Brown male identities have been defined by the legacy of slavery within an American context and as a product of a patriarchal society. Fusing multiple Street Dances (Bboy, Krump, House Dance, Hip-Hop, and more) and Physical Theatre as the mediums of movement through which the narrative unfolds, it asks: what does it mean to be a man, a person of color, and someone who identifies as male in our contemporary context?How are our identities sold to us? How are we sold to each other?
