MONÉT MOVEMENT PRODUCTIONS: THE COLLECTIVE (MMPTC) is a multifaceted dance company founded in May 2020. The Collective highlights the versatility of the dancing and choreographic vessel by showcasing works ranging from contemporary to Afro-Caribbean. We create space for the FUZION of genres. MMPTC presents bodies of work and curates cultural events that embrace Caribbean culture and spotlight Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural values. Through innovative choreography and intentional movement, Monét Movement Productions: The Collective shares stories that are personal, social, and cultural in nature. All elements of the artistic voice are embraced by honoring tradition, innovation, freedom, and imagination in dance. @mmp.thecollective
SOFÍA FORERO AND NICOLAS FIERY, distinguished artists in the dance realm, bring their exceptional talents to the forefront of the performing arts scene. Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and Paris, France respectively, Forero and Fiery have collaborated since 2018, establishing their creative synergy in New York City. Their extensive training spans various dance styles, including Hip-Hop, Ballet, Salsa, and Modern.
Forero honed her skills at the Joffrey Ballet School, while Fiery studied at Arts en Mouvements, culminating in their joint graduation with Honors from The Ailey School Certificate Program in 2020. They have performed works by eminent choreographers such as Alvin Ailey, Darrel Moultrie, and Earl Mosley. They have graced prestigious venues including Sony Hall in Times Square, the Paris Opera, and Lincoln Center.
Forero and Fiery serve as Artistic Directors of their respective companies, The Heraclitus Project and MUMOS, and have received commissions from esteemed institutions like AVA Gallery, Works On Water, and Greenpoint Gallery. Their collaborative works have garnered national attention, and they are set to embark on their inaugural international tour near Paris in November 2024, commissioned by l’État Français, where they will unveil their latest World Premieres.The artists are delighted to return to Arts on Site, the venue where their initial collaboration, “Are We?”, debuted in 2019.
