About the Event

THE DANCING ROOM is an intimate and theatrical Memoir/Vaudeville/Dreamscape in which Yehuda L. Hyman invites the audience into the deep transformational possibilities of Jewish mystical dance, as he enacts stories in movement and text about: passionate artists, 18th-century Rebbes, and everyday people who danced a path from sadness to ecstasy.  The piece is directed and developed by Obie-Award winner, Michael Leibenluft and features acclaimed Klezmer clarinetist Margot Leverett. Sound Designer is Kate Marvin, Lighting Designer is Daisy Long. 

Yehuda is an award-winning playwright/dancer/choreographer/actor and Artistic Director of Mystical Feet Company  (The Mar Vista, Secret of the Possible), based in Brooklyn.
