RACHEL GILL

RACHEL GILL is a dancer, choreographer, and amateur filmmaker based in New York City. The Eight Positions is a duet featuring choreographed dance, improvisation, and video projection. The choreography is organized by the idea of there being eight available positions for two bodies (e.g. face-to-face, back-to-back, face-to-back) and the improvised sections are guided by such themes as separation and collision, the interpretation of language, the inevitability of return, and transformation through repetition. In its layers of live performance and video projection, this work develops as a palimpsest of self-reflexive and indeterminate nature. @rachheyhello
