THOUGHTS IN MOTION DANCE / DANCES WE DANCE

Enjoy the progression of dance with “MOMENTO,” a live performance combining the choreography of Isadora Duncan, Rae Ballard and Mark Bankin. Members of Francesca Todesco’s Dances We Dance perform four delightful Duncan solos set to Chopin, plus Isadora’s intense “Dance of the Furies.” Rae Ballard’s “Second Line Blues” showcases a dance-theatre style which rests on the bedrock of the Humphrey-Limon-Sokolow aesthetics, and Ballard’s company, Thoughts in Motion, also premieres a new work set to poetry. Inspired by myth and folk dance, Mark Bankin’s piece rounds out a program combining dance, music, and spoken word for an emotionally powerful effect.
